The Captur is a practical car with plenty of appeal, offering good all round value for money. Road tax is low and Renault claim the two diesel engines will give up to 76 mpg and the petrol 57mpg - and you get extra peace of mind with a generous four year warranty. Ride In regular driving, it offers a quite standard performance. It runs comfortably on all types of roads, without excessive vibration. Renault’s pulled off exactly what it needed to with the Captur Mk2. That makes its engine run smoothly, without excessive demand. The Captur is well priced and low emissions and high fuel economy mean running costs are good. The Captur is one of the most powerful competitors in its market segment and, at the same time, features similar size and weight. Options include parking sensors and a reversing camera. Three ISOFIX child seat points, six airbags, technology to help prevent the car skidding and doors that automatically lock at 5mph are all fitted as standard. The Captur is no thriller to drive, but small SUVs arent designed to be. We’re big fans of the removable seat covers - available on Dynamique and Dynamique S models - which can be thrown in the washing machine when they’re dirty. The boot is a good size, with a floor that can be raised and back seats that fold and also go back and forward giving you extra space when you need it - although the glove box is too small to be useful. Those 4x4 looks give plenty of space, making this a great family car.
